Former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, believes the #EndBadGovernance protests across the country will make or break Nigeria.
The former lawmaker who gave his opinion on the protests by Nigerians who are upset over the hardship and hunger in their country, said there is no need to panic as the protests could be a blessing in disguise or it could be the end of the country.
In a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday night, Sani said that if the protests ended peacefully, the country’s democracy would be stronger. But if not, the nation would learn from it.
“Tomorrow (Thursday) is the scheduled day for the protest. Protests will come and go. There is no need to panic. If the protests are peaceful, it will strengthen our democracy; if not, the nation will learn from it,” Sani wrote.

“Rights and freedoms can only be guaranteed in a peaceful atmosphere. Security forces must provide security for those who want to demonstrate and for those who do not want to demonstrate.
“In everything we want and don’t want, we must have a state first. Any criminal or terrorist who wants to exploit or take advantage of the implementation of citizens’ rights and freedoms to cause chaos and disorder, must be arrested and handed over to the authorities.
“All the steps taken by the Kaduna State Government to protect the rights of citizens and secure the country are commendable considering our history and experience. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
