In a significant development for the Nigerian wrestling community, the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has been granted the prestigious IOC Solidarity funding to conduct a Level 3 Coaching Course for the coaches of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF).
According to a Press Statement made available to Completesports.com by the PRO Nigeria Olympic Committee, Mr. Tony Nezianya, the course is scheduled to take place from October 15 to October 21, 2023, in Yanegoa, Bayelsa State.
This initiative made possible through the Olympic Solidarity and the National Olympic Committees, aims to enhance the coaching and mentoring skills of Nigeria Wrestling Federation coaches and teams, ensuring they achieve their maximum potential performance and aiding Nigerian wrestlers in reaching their peak in the sport.

A total of 25 coaches from various states across Nigeria have been extended invitations to partake in this week-long training program.
The course will feature internationally approved facilitators, with Vincent Aka from France taking the lead, and Zac Dominguez from the USA providing assistance.
The official opening of the training will be declared by the Nigeria Olympic Committee’s Secretary-General, Babatunde Popoola, marking a significant step in the continued development and excellence of Nigeria’s wrestling community.
