Nigeria’s Favour Ofili finished sixth in the women’s 200m final at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Tuesday night.
Ofili, who reached the final after finishing third overall with a time of 22.05 seconds in the semifinals on Monday, ran 22.25 seconds in the final.
Gabrielle Thomas of the US ran 21.83 seconds to finish first in the race and win the Olympic gold medal.

Women’s 100m champion Julien Alfred won silver in 22.08 seconds, while Brittany Brown of the US was third with bronze in 22.20 seconds.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Samuel Ogazi has qualified for the men’s 400m final. He will run in lane 3 while Michael Norman of the US will run in lane 4.
Zambia’s Muzala Samukonga is the other African in the race, and he will run in lane 7.
