Done deal: Super Eagles midfield ace, who made 7 appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations, completes transfer to MLS side

Just weeks after Chidozie Awaziem’s transfer to MLS side FC Cincinnati from Portuguese club Boavista, another Nigeria senior international is close to a move to MLS.

One player who caught everyone’s attention at the Africa Cup of Nations while playing for the Super Eagles was Alhassan Yusuf, who was called up at the last minute to replace the injured Wilfred Ndidi but ended up starting in the first match of the tournament.

Yusuf has now moved his move from Belgian club Antwerp to MLS, where he will join the New England Revolution in a deal reportedly worth $3 million and will also sign a three-and-a-half-year contract.

According to Belgium transfer news expert Sacha Tavolieri, Yusuf, who has made seven appearances for Nigeria, will undergo a routine medical in Europe before flying to the US to complete the remainder of the deal and resume training.
