According to IK Louis, “Mama” was born on Mother’s Day, during a special Mother’s Day ceremony at her church.

“Over the years the song “Sweet Mother”, a timeless song, has been the main song for every mother’s day. I thought, if it has been like this for centuries why can’t I also come up with a timeless song for mothers that is timeless with a mix of Afrobeat vibes that can resonate with both the old and the young. Now here it is “MAMA”. I believe for all those born of women this is the new song to sing and dance with their mother – I am Louis
