There is a new twist as to where Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will play this season, with both Chelsea and Napoli FC set to begin their 2024/2025 campaign with the player in their opening matchday squad.
Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with Chelsea FC, with most of the Stamford Bridge faithful keen to see the deal completed before their season-opener against Manchester City on Sunday.
But Osimhen’s transfer to the Blues may not happen after all as Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be back for Osimhen.
There is a quick-fix response as Goncalo Ramos suffered an injury in PSG’s 4-1 thrashing of Le Havre in the 2024/2025 Ligue 1 opener, which is feared will sideline the striker for three months.
With Kyllian Mbappe out and Ramos injured, PSG may be forced to shell out Osimhen’s $100 million valuation.
Chelsea will continue their pursuit of Osimhen but may have to rush negotiations with PSG’s new move, as Napoli have open offers that will see Lukaku move to Napoli and Osimhen leave.

In Serie A, Napoli FC will host Verona on Sunday at 17:30 CET, when coach Conte begins his tenure as Napoli FC manager in the league.
However, the Italian left Victor Osimhen out of the travelling squad amid ongoing transfer speculation as the player has asked to leave the club.
In another key match on Sunday, Kyllian Mbappé will make his LaLiga debut with Real Madrid against Mallorca at 8:30 p.m.
