Ebenezer Akinsanmiro made his debut over the weekend for Italian club, Sampdoria.
The Inter Milan midfielder joined Sampdoria, who are in Italy’s lower division, this summer.
In his debut, Sampdoria settled for a 2-2 draw against Frosinone, however, coach Andrea Pirlo was not satisfied with Akinsanmiro’s performance.

The 19-year-old played for 84 minutes despite his stats including an 85% passing accuracy and a perfect record on long balls.
He won 8 of 13 duels, completed four of six dribbles, blocked one shot and made three interceptions, it was his lost possession that ruined his performance.
In his post-match press conference, Pirlo pointed out these errors and called for improvements, particularly regarding the Nigerian’s tendency to hug the ball.
“Akinsanmiro has quality, but sometimes he likes to have the ball too much and we have to iron that out,” said Pirlo.
“If you keep possession of the ball too much with players who are structured in Serie B, you can’t afford it.”
Sampdoria will face Reggiana at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris on Saturday, August 24.
