
The 2024 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Premier Basketball League is gearing up for an exciting season, with Nigeria’s top teams set to compete for the championship.
This year’s league is scheduled to commence on September 1, 2024, with the Savannah and Atlantic Conferences hosting Phase One of their games in Lafia, Nasarawa and Asaba, Delta State respectively.
Savannah Conference: The battle begins in Lafia
The first phase of the Savannah Conference will be held from September 1 to 7 at the Lafia Town Hall, Lafia, Nasarawa State. Teams in this conference will be looking to make a strong start to the first phase of the tournament. The second phase will move to the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium, Abuja, from September 22 to 28, where competition is expected to intensify as teams vie for a spot in the national finals.
Atlantic Conference: Much at stake in Asaba and Akure
Simultaneously, Phase One of the Atlantic Conference will also take place from September 1 to 7, but at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Indoor Sports Hall in Asaba, Delta State. The teams will then proceed to Phase Two in Akure, Ondo State, from September 22 to 28, at the Akure Indoor Sports Hall. Both phases are expected to offer high-stakes matches as the top teams from each phase will advance to the National Finals.
National finals in Lagos
The culmination of this year’s competition will be the National Finals, which will take place from 13 to 19 October 2024, at the Lagos National Stadium Indoor Sports Hall.
The best teams from the Savannah and Atlantic conferences will face off in this Final 8 showdown, where the ultimate winner of the 2024 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League will be crowned.
