Four people were killed on Tuesday night in a canoe accident in Kauranmata Village, Madobi Local Government Area, Kano State.
The boat was carrying 15 rice processors from Karfi town in Kura LGA when it capsized in the area.

Six passengers were still missing at the time of writing, while five people including the canoe driver and a nursing mother were rescued alive from the water.
Madobi LGA spokesperson Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai confirmed the incident to journalists on Wednesday.
He said the victims were Maryam Jibrin, Yusuf Galinja, Kabiru Muhammad, and Safiyanu Musa.
