Serie A club Napoli have left Nigeria international Victor Osimhen out of their matchday squad following transfer drama on transfer deadline day.
Netizens reacted to the treatment meted out to Osimhen by the Italian giants as transfer expectations were not met on Friday.
Osimhen was set to join Chelsea but the deal could not be closed due to financial terms, according to reports.
Napoli had also agreed terms with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli for the Nigerian forward, but then asked for more money, which also stalled the deal, according to reports.

Napoli will host Parma in the third matchday of Serie A today (Saturday) and the squad list does not include Osimhen.
Meanwhile, the number 9 shirt, usually worn by Africa’s best players, has now been given to new signing Romelu Lukaku.
Currently, with the European transfer window closed, if there is no agreement from Saudi in the next three days, Osimhen will remain at Napoli and will not be part of the first-team squad.
Osimhen has been invited to the Nigeria squad that will face Benin Republic and Rwanda in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers early next month.
