NFF officially launches communication devices for NPFL referees at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, has officially introduced the use of communication devices for referees in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

This important development was unveiled today at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, during the match between Rangers International and Elkanemi Warriors.

The move is in fulfilment of a promise made by Gusau at the pre-season seminar for match officials in Abuja. He had pledged to improve the quality of refereeing in the NPFL by integrating the latest technological equipment into match refereeing.

The introduction of these communication devices marks a major step forward in Nigerian football, with the aim of improving decision-making and coordination between referees during matches.

The new devices were successfully used by referees in the Rangers vs. Elkanemi Warriors match, marking the beginning of a new era in the country’s refereeing system.

By implementing these advanced tools, the NFF is demonstrating its commitment to modernising football refereeing in Nigeria by ensuring that referees are equipped with the technology needed to perform at the highest level.

This initiative is expected to set a new standard for refereeing in the NPFL, contributing to the overall development of the league and aligning it with international best practices.
