Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong believes the team’s performance against Rwanda in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier was good.
The Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw by Rwanda in their second Group D match on Tuesday.
The CB praised the team’s effort and said he is proud of their resilience.
“I am proud of the team,” he said.
“We created a lot of chances and could have scored several goals. Despite the difficult conditions, I think we played a good game and got a positive result.”
“The home fans made the game more vibrant and we used their energy as motivation,” he said.
“Rwanda had a great game plan, but we could have won the game another day.”
With four points from their first two matches, the Super Eagles are well on their way to a qualifying campaign.
“We have two positive results so far and our aim is to ensure a good performance in the upcoming matches against Libya.”
The Super Eagles will now face Libya in October.
