Europa: Spurs beat Qarabag as Dessers helps Rangers win in Malmo

Tottenham Hotspur got their Europa League campaign off to a perfect start as they secured a 3-0 win over Qarabag on Thursday night.

Spurs finished the match with 10 men and actually played most of the game one man short after Radu Drăgușin saw a red card in the seventh minute.

Brennan Johnson, Pape Sarr and Dominic Solanke scored for the home side as they cruised to victory in London.

Earlier that evening, Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers helped Rangers beat Malmo 2-0 to also start their campaign well.

In Türkiye, Fenerbahce beat Union SG 2-1, Ajax crushed Besiktas 4-0, Frankfurt and Vitoria Plzn drew 3-3 while Lyon beat Olympiakos 2-0.

In other Europa League matches on Thursday evening, AS Roma and Athletic Bilbao drew 1-1 while Sporting Braga beat Maccabi TA 2-1
