Remo Stars continued their winning streak in the Nigerian Premier Football League with a 2-1 victory over defending champions Rangers Int’l in Ikenne, on Sunday.
The matchday four match at Ikenne on Sunday generated the excitement that fans expected, with both teams pressing from the start.
Despite the high pace, the first half ended goalless and neither team was able to break the tie.
The match came to life early in the second half when Alex Oyowah opened the scoring for Remo Stars, finishing off a well-executed move with Franck Mawuema.
However, Rangers responded quickly, equalizing just four minutes later through a Kenechukwu Agu penalty after goalkeeper Serge Obassa fouled a Rangers player.
Remo Stars regained the lead in the 60th minute with a stunning shot from Tochukwu Michael, sealing their fourth consecutive victory and maintaining their perfect record with 12 points at the top of the table.
