The police confirmed the abduction of a billionaire businessman, the death of two assistants

The State Police Command of Abia confirmed the kidnapping of a billionaire businessman, the head of Obasi Lawson and the K! Ling of his two helpers.

Reports reported that some armed men still to be identified, Tuesday 4 March, kidnapped Obasi, who is the president of the Foundation Council of the Outlet Outlet Outlet Outlet Outlet Association of Nigeria and owner of Sobaz Oil and Gas, in the Azumini community in Abia.

The armed men killed his driver, Anayo Ukwu, and his special assistant, Mazi, the Chijioke trust, which also doubled as vice president of the association in the state of spins, accompanying the president of the bot in his vehicle.

The spokesman for the State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, in a declaration on Friday 7 March 2025, said the investigations on the kidnapping of the head of the Obasi Lawson were underway.

“On 04/03/2025 around 9:30 pm we received a report from the judge of Sergeant Gubi according to which ASP Tanko Natip, Inspector Ernest and himself from Special Protection Unit (Spu) base 6, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, who were attacked as stocks for the Obasi Lawson head, traveled to Arochukwu”.

“At 13:00, while they returned to Port Harcourt through Azumini Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area, were ambushed to Mkap Jekere Ndoki around 19:00.

“A unknown dark blue Sienna vehicle who transported unidentified armed men made them with a double crossing and opened fire. While the officers were rejecting the attack, another set of armed men forcefully took the chief Lawson, ordered them to their vehicle and led them to an unknown destination, leaving his driver and another dead.

“The tactical teams were immediately enrolled on the scene and the area is currently combed with the opinion of saving the unharmed victim.

“The crime scene has been visited and the area is combed by police officers.

“The police commissioner Abia State Command, the CP Danladi Isa immediately visited the area in the company of DC operations and other teams and urged the residents to remain calm and attentive to safety since the intensive patrol has been activated in the area.
