The woman who was sentenced to death for throwing an 8 -year -old girl into the canoe

Judge Yusuf Muhammad-Ubale from the Kano State High Court on Friday punished a housewife, Fadila Adamu, to death by hanging because he threw an eight-year-old girl into the well.

The defendant was punished for the abduction and murder that was blamed.

The judge in his decision argued that the prosecution had proven his case without doubt and punished the defendant to die by hanging.

He said: “I hereby punish the defendant to death by hanging to kidnap and throw the victim into the well, which caused his death.”

Previously, the legal counsel, Lamido Abba-Sorondinki, told the court that the defendant committed a violation on July 14, 2019, at the Wada Quarters Case, Kano.

He said: “Around 16:45 on that day, the defendant kidnapped a minor and took him to his house.

“The defendant told his sister that the deceased was his friend’s daughter, whose mother had traveled to Ghana, and asked him to look after the child until he returned.

“On July 17, 2019, around 6:30 pm, the defendant caused the death of a minor when he threw it into a deep well located at Tukuntawa, Kano.”

Abba-Sorondinki gave seven witnesses, including the defendant’s statement and medical reports confirmed the death of the victim.

The defendant refused to commit violations.

The prosecutor said that violations violated part 274 (B) and 221 (a) of the Criminal Code.

Defenders, Zulaihat Tata, gave four witnesses, including the defendant, to testify in his defense.
