The suspected governor of the river, Fubara, maintains hope of alive, urges resilience in the midst of a political crisis

The governor who was deferred from the state of Rivers, Siminaayi Fubara, had convinced the inhabitants that the ongoing political turbulence in the state would eventually strengthen the people rather than reducing their determination.

Fubara conveyed this message when accepting Muslim leaders from 20 Islamic organizations, including the highest council for Islamic affairs, at his personal residence in Port Harcourt during the visit of Sallah Eid-El-Fitr, on Monday.

Overcoming the delegation, the governor fought urges religious leaders and his supporters to remain firm in faith, stating that challenges often lead to greater goals.

“This season is one of the love, sharing, and sacrifice,” Fubara said. “You have come to share in our pain and have made a big sacrifice through your prayers. As Christians, we believe that everything happens for a goal, and I strongly believe that this situation directs us towards greater goals.”

Acknowledging emotional victims from the crisis, Fubara emphasized the need for resilience, showing that supernatural power might be working outside of human understanding.

“No matter what we see, we must remain steadfast. In everything, we give glory to God Almighty. I believe that in the end, we will appear stronger,” he added.

He reiterated the commitment of his government to justice and equality, imagining a society where no one was oppressed.

“We believe in egalitarianism, and if our beliefs make us sick, so. The most important thing is that we stand on the side of truth and truth,” he said.

Fubara expressed regret for his inability to be officially involved with the Muslim community during their celebrations but convinced them that the relationship between religious and government groups would be strengthened as the political uncertainty subsided. He also promised to overcome their delayed request after stability was restored.

Drawing from the history of religion, he underlined the virtues of patience, by saying, “If God can be patient with Noah to let even snails enter the ark, then patience remains important in our struggle.”

In a strong warning to supporters and residents, Fubara warned of those who tried to incite violence, urge people to remain peaceful and not surrender to provocation.

“Their goal is to create problems and deny the people of their livelihoods. We will not allow it. We will continue to operate peacefully and respect constitutional authority to ensure that our country remains a model for others in Nigeria,” he concluded.
