As Team Nigeria begins its campaign at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), Eng. Chukwudi Dimkpa, wished the nation’s athletes and officials a memorable, injury-free and successful outing.
In his goodwill message, Eng. Dimkpa prayed for God’s protection on every member of Team Nigeria during the competition and expressed confidence in their ability to make the nation proud through exceptional performances.
“I wish Team Nigeria a successful and smooth exit at the Commonwealth Games. My prayers are with every athlete and official for God’s protection during the Games. I have no doubt that our athletes possess the talent, discipline, determination and resilient Nigerian ‘never say never’ spirit to win gold medals and secure several podiums for our country,” he said.
The KFN President noted that although karate is not one of the sports featured at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the federation firmly supports Team Nigeria and joins millions of Nigerians in supporting the country’s representatives on the international stage.
Eng Dimkpa also praised the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, for his constant commitment to the preparation and well-being of Team Nigeria.
He commended the NSC leadership for working tirelessly to ensure that Nigerian athletes receive the necessary technical, medical, logistical and social support needed to compete at the highest level and represent the nation with pride.
He urged all Nigerians to unite in support of Team Nigeria, expressing optimism that the country’s contingent will return home with medals and performances that would inspire the next generation of athletes.
