ACF demands emergency rules in the highlands for murder

The Puncak North Socio-Political Organization, the Arwa Consultative Forum (ACF), on Monday urged the Federal Government to end a series of deadly attacks by terror groups in helpless communities in the highlands by stating an emergency in the state.

In a statement issued by his national publicity secretary, Tukur Muhammad-Baba, ACF expressed concern about the wave of attacks in several communities in the state.

The forum called for decisive action to stop violence in the highlands and other parts of the country.

He demanded that the federal government must, as a problem of urgency, stating security emergencies in vulnerable and vulnerable bandits and to start an early warning strategy and early response that combines community members’ participation.

The armed people last week attacked the Ruwi, Hurti, and Tadai communities in the Bokkos Regional Government, as well as Manguna and Dafo villages, and killed more than 50 people.

They also destroyed the property of millions of naira in the community.

“ACF reiterates the old attitude that every new experience is too much. Clearly, people are very painful, with their situation exacerbated by existential economic challenges. Murder in the highlands must be stopped immediately, and peace must return to the state,” said Muhammad-Baba.

“The forum calls for the federal government to intensify efforts in the collection, processing and spread of intelligence that can be followed up by all relevant security institutions to determine the direct and remote causes of the latest small battles, as well as for security institutions to investigate, identify, capture, and demand perpetrators and enablers of attacks.

“In addition, ACF demands full compensation for victims of attacks and extension of assistance for those who are injured by attackers.

“ACF is very grieving over the dead and firmly condemns the attack. This forum in particular conveys sympathy and condolences to the affected community, the government, and the people of the State of the highlands.

“This forum identifies with deep pain from the families of the victims, praying to God to give eternal breaks who died, because the survived victim was fortified with the power to bear the loss and to return quickly to full health for all who suffered injuries.

“The Federal Government and the State Government of the highlands must empower community leaders, elders, clerks, traditional leaders, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to start dialogue community dialogue to resolve conflicts, reconciliation, and cooperation.

“Citizens must provide trustworthy information to security institutions about rebel and criminal activities.

“And members of the National Assembly must do more to hold the FGN and National Security Institution to be responsible and to demand concrete evidence from a determination company to destroy terror at this time to citizens.”
