Nita is looking for inputs on drafts of technical standards for digital public infrastructures

The National Information Technology Development Agency (Nita) invited Nigerians to input in the projects of technical standards for public digital infrastructures (DPI).

According to a state signed by the Director, the reports with communications and corporate media Nita Mr. Hadiza Umar, the passage underlines the government’s commitment to promote an inclusive, safe and interoperable digital ecosystem that will guide economic growth, will improve the supply of public services and enhance citizens throughout the nation.

The federal government had 4th Of March 2025 through the Federal Ministry of Communications, innovations and the digital economy, he published the framework of digital public infrastructures.

According to the declaration, the DPI framework presents a platform to reform the provision of public services, using a full government approach, which includes the opportunity for the private sector to build and provide cross -cutting services that will improve well -being and access to citizens’ toxires.

He said that the framework also establishes the Nigerian digital public infrastructure center (NG-Dapic) as an office implementation of the program to coordinate the national effort to educate, support research and provide adequate knowledge management for the development of Nigeria’s DPI.

The goal is to engage significantly in the development of a solid architecture led by PPE for the benefit of society.

The declaration observed that this project of technical standards for DPI provides a structured approach for the development and implementation of the digital public infrastructures of Nigeria (DPI).

“They define the essential technical requirements and proven techniques to ensure interoperability, safety and efficiency through digital services. Stocking clear guides, these standards support the integration of seamless integration of the DPI components, promoting a safe, scalable and resilient digital ecosystem in Nigeria.

“In addition, it outlines the structure for supplementary PPE, including but not limited to digital identity systems, payment platforms and data exchange framework. Mira to establish clear guidelines for interoperability, data protection, IT security and the participation of stakeholders in the public and private sector in the construction of public goods (DPGS), using these critical digital foundations.

The declaration also observed that in -depth research, the best international practices and consultations with various parties concerned have guided the development of this project of technical standards.

The key objectives of the digital public public infrastructure regulation project include:

β€œPromote governance and compliance: to provide clear responsibility, transparency and rules of regulatory alignment

“Encourage innovation: facilitate the adoption of open source technologies, while adhering adequate use guidelines.

“Stands test practices: guarantee a constant validation of systems to meet the technical requirements and defined users.”

“The federal government recognizes the crucial role of the public contribution in the formation of effective and impact regulations. Therefore, it invites all interested parties, including citizens, companies, civil society organizations, academy and international partners, to review the regulation project and provide precious feedback.
