Nigeria U-18 and U-20 female handball teams dominate zone 3 with great victories over Ghana and Benin

Nigerian’s minor female female handball teams presented a resounding statement of intention in phase 3 of the IHF Africa female trophy in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, which passed beyond Ghana and Benin Republic with dominant exhibitions in categories U-18 and U-20, respectively.

The U-18 team of coach John Uzor dismantled Ghana 35-24 in a high rhythm shock, showing acuity and tactical speed. Having a thin advantage of 18-14 in the half-time, the Nigerian girls increased their defensive pressure and punished the ghane ball losses to end with an emphatic victory of 11 goals.

Meanwhile, the U-20 team was too hot for the Republic of Benin, reaching a 42-30 victory. Nigeria’s aggressive beginning earned them a mid-time advantage of 22-13, with implacable transitions and a precise pivot game that makes a difference.

Both teams are now firm in their groups, prepared for semifinal clashes on Wednesday while pursuing points in the continental stage of the tournament.
