This is the inspiring story of two brothers, Tope and Tola Olaleye, who Twund Otonakoya established a new world record for the longest chess marathon in an impressive 64 hours.
Top and tola were enrolled in chess classes by their parents in April 2023, who were excited about the decision and imagined a brilliant future for their children. The classes were taught by a certified instructor of Fédération Internationale Deséchecs (FIDE) called Bamigbelu Adela.
In addition to his regular classes, his father organized private lessons for them, and the children quickly showed their talent. They quickly improved and soon participated in several tournaments before moving to the United States.
In a few months, they received an invitation from Harvard University to join eight other players in an exhibition match against Tunde Okoya. They were also interviewed for an upcoming documentary. The children were delighted with the perspective of meeting Tunde, who has the record of the longest chess marathon.
Mr. and Mrs. Olaleye kept her coach in Nigeria informed about the progress of her children in chess. Finally, the whole family traveled to New York City to witness the remarkable achievement of Tunde O useakoya to establish a new 64 -hour world record for the longest chess marathon. The boys were recognized during the list of those who participated in the parallel games, and their mother also enjoyed playing chess.
This experience brought great joy to the whole family, and always took the opportunity to express their appreciation for their Fide Fide instructor.
Citing Mr. And Mrs. Eyitayo Olaleye: “Good morning, Lord. How is you? You may not remember me, but I am Mr. Abayomi Abidoy. I previously made consultations on registering my children in your school, and my wife has registered them.
This is us last Sunday. My children were invited to play against Tunde O useakoya at Harvard University in an exhibition game. Tunde played against ten players, and they were the youngest participants.
I want to thank you for your dedication to train them. They are still registered in online chess classes here, and we are proud of their achievements. We hope you are doing well. Continue with your good job.
Sincerely,
Eyitayo Olaleye.
PS: I asked my wife to contact you, but she forgot, that’s why I’m sending you messages now. “
