Claims of Sexual Harassment: Sen Akpoti-Uuduaghan responded

The suspected senator for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has pushed back the demands of the Legal Wolf Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), who asked him to attract allegations of sexual harassment aimed at the President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio.

In a letter dated April 30 and addressed to the AGBAKOBA room, Akpoti-Uduaghan stood on the ground, describing his request as an honest explanation of events and swear to pursue this issue in the High Court of the Federal Capital Region.

His response follows the dismissal of the AGBAKoba public on his claim as “wrong and unfounded,” accompanied by an exclamation for public extraction.

Firmly rejected the request, Akpoti-Uduaghan argued that the courtroom, not a public comment, was the right forum to test evidence. He criticized the request of Agbakoba as an effort to overtake legal procedures and misinterpret the complexity of handling cases of sexual harassment.

“Evidence assessment is only a court,” he wrote. “The nature of your request … only shows a broader misunderstanding of what is truly the same as sexual harassment as specified in several global protocols.”

Senator, who remains bluntly despite its suspension, describes a letter from AGBAKoba as part of a broader pattern of intimidation. He warned that such tactics took the risk of underestimating the legal system and the sensitive nature of the claims of sexual harassment.

“Your client seems to intend to lower this problem to the backwaters of public ridicule,” he added. “This letter damaged the process and eroded the legal principles that you, you, are celebrated widely to fight for.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan also expressed concern over what he called the coordinated media campaign designed to discredit his claims. He accused Agbakoba of contributing to the environment where the narrative of the media of trying to influence the ongoing legal process.

“A litigation must not approve in court and rise in the press,” he said, asking for legal principles for parallel adjudication. “This is not just a matter of politeness – it is very basic to preserve justice and the dignity of the judicial process.”

Agbakoba previously questioned the credibility of the Senator Petition, quoting the inconsistency and the absence of evidence that strengthened. The company’s response reflects skepticism of the charges, which characterizes them as destructive and baseless.

The controversy is now moving from the public opinion courtroom to the formal corridor of justice, where the FCT High Court is expected to prosecute the benefits of Akpoti-Uuduaghan claims.
