The Adamawa group accuses the representative of giving priority to the business on the needs of the components

More than a year after his mandate as a member of the House of Representatives for Yola South, Yola North and Girei Federal Colli, Hon. Abubakar Babazango (Abaza), is facing a growing criticism for what many describe as a sad performance.

The Jimeta Frontiers Movement (JFM), an important group of defense of the community, publicly called the legislator, accusing him of having abandoned his members while prioritizing personal commercial interests on public service.

In a fiery press conference held in Yola Wednesday, the president of the JFM Danladi Isa Adamu Jikanshi did not mince words, labeling the representation of Abaza as a “total failure” and a “zero impact” on the cosmopolitan region.

The group highlighted the clear contrast between the mandate of Abaza and that of its predecessors, the lawyer Garba Lawan, Hajiya Aishatu Dahiru Binani and the Hon. Abba Girei, that Abaza did not appear through a controversial judgment of the court in October 2023.

“Since he took the cloak of the leadership from Abba Girei through the judicial trial, there is nothing tangible on the ground,” said Jikanshi.

“Abaza remained silent both with bills of bills and electoral college, including job opportunities: things that were the norm pursuant to previous representatives. It is a pity that the Court has decided otherwise against Abba Girei, but honestly, for all standards, past legislators have exceeded him.”

Jikanshi said that Abaza, a well -known businessman, was more focused on the expansion of his international commercial empire, in particular in the export of essential products, rather than serving the people who elected him.

“Forget his voters, committed to building his wealth as we languish without representation,” he accused. The group has issued a severe warning, exhorting Abaza to “sit and need” or face the consequences of public discontent.

The criticism of the JFM paints a gloomy picture of a legislator whose mandate has left the vibrant and deserving communities of Yola North, Yola South and I went in disillusioned. These areas, among the most cosmopolitan of the state of Adamawa, have historically relying on a solid representation in the National Assembly to meet their unique needs.

However, under Abaza, the group says, there was little to demonstrate in terms of legislative influence, infrastructure projects or creation of jobs – Hallmark of an effective leadership shown by its predecessors.

“It is a disappointment for the people of this electoral college,” said Jikanshi. “We are comforted by the fact that 2027 is just around the corner. People will decide against Babazango and vote for a credible and altruistic individual who really cares about the masses.”

The fall of the leadership of Abaza has aroused widespread frustration, with JFM claims that the electoral college deserves much better than they currently endure.

While the stopwatch appears towards the next electoral cycle, the invitation to the action of the group reports a growing determination between the components to recover one’s own voice and request the representation that corresponds to the stature of their region.

For now, Abaza’s silence in the face of these accusations deepens only the narrative of a legislator whose priorities are far from the people who swore to serve.
