Obi’s partners resigned from the Labor Party for alleged betrayal, election fraud

Head of Oseloka Obaze, an old political partner of the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has resigned from the Labor Party for “Anti-Democracy Acts” and “Betrayal of Trust.”

Obaze, an experienced diplomat and an union official, made his decision public in a week-dated letter and was addressed to the Chairperson of the Labor Party in Ochuche Ward 406, the Ogbaru Regional Government Area in the State of Anambra.

In a strong letter of words, the former Secretary of the State Government Anambra condemned the party’s behavior during the April Governor’s main election in Anambra, which he said was “full of direct deviations.”

“The process, behavior, and results of the Election of the Labor Party Governor which was held on April 5, 2025, in AWKA is not in line with the constitution of one party, its core values are adhered to, or the actual principle of democracy,” he wrote.

“Based on this letter, I hereby submit my resignation from the Labor Party.”

Obaze, who touched the campaign organization of candidate John Nwosu, said the decision to resign was a very personal protest act – which aimed at preserving his democratic political beliefs and integrity.

His departure was interpreted by political observers as a significant rupture in the orbit of the influence of Peter Obi. Has been a trusted trust from the presidential candidate of the Labor Party in the 2023 election, Obaze’s decision marked a public impact that raised questions about Obi’s internal leadership and the party’s democratic credibility.

The resignation occurred in the midst of a broader crisis of trust in the Labor Party. In recent weeks, a series of members of parliament, including members of the Enugu State Council Council, have left the party, with people indicating that more conscience will soon occur.
