Fred Ajudua

Fred Ajudua, a businessman and socialite based in Lagos, was arrested by the Commission for economic and financial crimes (EFCC) in relation to a case of $ 1.43 million fraud.

The arrest was carried out in Abuja, Tuesday, following a sentence of the Supreme Court on May 5, 2025, which revoked the deposit of Ajudua and ordered his mandate in custody.

A source at the Feccc headquarters confirmed the development on Tuesday evening.

According to the source, Ajudua was taken in custody, waiting for his re -hiring on the accusations of fraud.

Ajudua’s legal problems date back to decades ago, with numerous accusations of early fraud.

The current arrest followed a decision of the Supreme Court which canceled a previous deposit granted by the Lagos Court of Appeal, reporting the intention of the judiciary to strengthen responsibility in cases of high -profile financial crime.

There are reports that suggest that Ajudua may have been able to arrest for some time, arousing concerns about the application of the orders of the Court and the solidity of the judicial conformity mechanisms.

The case of fraud that led to its initial procedure involved a German businessman presumably framed $ 1.43 million in 1993.

Ajudua was also accused of scoring two Dutch citizens of $ 1.69 million between 1999 and 2000 and to fray the former head of the army staff, Lieutenant Gen. Ishaya Bamayi, of $ 8.4 million in 2004 during their period in the Kirikiri prison.

In 2016, the EFCC presented a charge of 28 counts against him for conspiracy and obtained money with false claims.

This case had to face more delays over the years, including health -related bail applications and an attempt to stop without success in 2007.

When he was contacted for an answer, the FECC delewale spokesman refused to comment on the arrest.
