Gombe 2027: APC that embraces the inevitable choice

Whether it’s the presidency or the Governorate, the race for 2027 has undeniably started, faster and stronger than ever. Political analysts, party loyalists and even random observers now agree that the general elections of 2027 have already started, long before the echoes of the results of 2023 were faded.

This is a unique cycle in which post-electoral silence has been quickly replaced by an aggressive scramble by relevance. Alignments and political realignments dominate the titles and as always in our political space, the voices clash violently with the facts to the crowded intersection of disinformation and public anxiety.

In this delicate and often chaotic labyrinth of ambition and strategy, it is not difficult to see how fatal calculations can be done. False steps that could cost the states of political parties that should be safe from all indicators. Gombe is one of these states. It is a classic case of how a party in power can lose its grip, not necessarily because she has not succeeded in governance, but because she was unable to read the room soon soon and act decisively.

The 2023 elections in Gombe should act as a caution story for the APC. The party may have maintained the Governorate, but has lost heavily in other crucial battlefields. The PDP has conquered two out of three senatorial seats: North tires and South Gombe. At the House of Representatives, they swept five federal electoral colleges, leaving only Akko for the APC. Also in the state assembly, the PDP obtained considerable earnings, ensuring four seats out of 24, by a majority, yes, but enough to show a serious intent.

This performance has naturally encouraged the PDP. And why not? The numbers suggest that Gombe could be mature for the socket if they can only put their home in order and present a more popular and unifying candidate than they have done in 2023. Many observers believe that the victory of the APC at the level of governororate was less the result of the overwhelming popularity and more due to the internal weaknesses of the PDP.

Many believe that the pdps candidate in the last release simply did not inspire trust and was transporting a luggage that weighed on him, making it difficult for his party to be faithful to gather behind him with condemnation. He may have had the recognition of the name, but alone he could not fill the gap of trusted.

In large part, the condemnation and performance of the ruin of the governor Inuwa Yahaya have gained support not only from his party but from all over the council – he presented a better alternative to the pilot the state for another four years compared to his main challengers, Jibrin Barde of the PDP (Nagers del Nighe (Nigeran di Nunpp) shot to fall in love with a position in charge.

Now that Yahaya is going, the APC needs a candidate who could have an overwhelming ceiling not only within his party, but also the entire State of Gombe, especially from young vibrant young people who constitute the driving force for any emerging candidate.

So, imagine for a moment a replying PDP. One who avoids the errors of 2023 and throws its weight behind a candidate who controls all the right boxes. This alone could transform Gombe into a completely blue state by 2027. Which asks the question: what should APC do to avoid being rolled with steam? The answer is simple: start now! The long and careful grooming process begins and projecting a candidate who not only appeals to the APC base, but also commands admiration and support through the lines of the parties.

Fortunately for the APC, the political atmosphere prevalent in the state is making their apparent boring work simpler: recent echoes who ask one of the successful young people of the state, Engr. Aliyu Muhammad, popularly known as Kombat, to throw the hat in the ring is an indicator of where the pendulum oscillates.

It is without diminishing the words that the popularity of a candidate is one of the undergrounds apart from his financial capacity, Engr. Aliyu presents a better solution to the APC: the most pronounced name in the minds of many tires residents, it could already be Engr. Aliyu Muhammad. The businessman and the loyalist of the longtime party, Kombat remained firmly on the ground in the trenches with the APC. But it’s not just about loyalty. What distinguishes him is his wide appeal, especially among young people who are increasingly tired of traditional politicians with little to offer. Kombat’s ideology of “Gombe First” has affected an agreement and that resonance transcends the party affiliations. It is considered as someone who sees politics not only as a race for power, but as a platform for a real change.

Politics is often said to be local. In Gombe, Kombat built a goodwill through wards and communities. His philanthropic efforts – often started without any media noise – have touched their lives in ways that many politicians can only dream. And that’s what makes it different. Its popularity is organic. It has not been designed in an office air -conditioned by political strategists. He grew up in the dusty roads of Gombe, in the hospitals he supported, in schools he helped to renew, to the lighthouse sunk and in the families who received the support when no one else came to call.

The most interesting thing is that many of these efforts have been made in its name by ordinary citizens without its suggestion or involvement. This alone speaks of volumes. It means that people are already deciding for him. In a political era in which many candidates must ask for relevance, Kombat is enrolled by the people.

Its close relationship and supported support and loyalty to the Governor Yahaya are another resource. Those who understand understand how fundamental Kombat was for the offer of re -election of the governor. It may not have been in the spotlight, but his role behind the scenes was fundamental. It only makes sense that the party recognizes it and is based on it. Not because he is entitled to nothing, but because it represents the most intelligent bet as possible for continuity.

Of course, Kombat has not officially declared his interest in contesting. But politics often concerns reading signs and signs could not be clearer. Ignoring this momentum would be a strategic error. The APC must not fall into the trap of assuming that loyalty or years of service automatically translate into electoral value. They don’t do it. The election is a completely separate question and is often guided since times, perception and motorcycles. Kombat, for all indications, appears those boxes.

Governor Yahaya, with his praisable projects, needs someone with similar ideology to succeed him and that person should not be someone with a lot of luggage but a person who has made luck for himself, but only aspirated to develop and expand his Orison to influence his endowment to the people of the State of Gombe. Kambat is doing a lot to integrate the efforts of his excellence.

And for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC, Gombe represents more than one state: it is part of a wider battlefield in which perception is reality. The party cannot afford to transport weak or divisive candidates in 2027. A candidate like Kombat not only strengthens the EPC ticket to Gombe, but also offers a fresh face that can energize the base and attract voters. It would have served as a strong regional ally to the president, helping to counterbalance the rhetoric of the opposition and offer a more rooted link with basic feelings.

In the end, Gombe 2027 does not concern the ego or reimburse old political debts. It is survival. It is a question of knowing when the tide is changing and learning to ride the wave instead of getting drowned by it. It is a question of being satisfied in advance and intelligent, for a candidate who is already the choice of many before the race officially starts.

To demonstrate his loyalty to the party and the Governor, Eng. Aliyu has appealed with passion to his teeming supporters to stop politics and evaluate the support to the governor Yahaya to complete his mandate and carry out his projects allocated. However, the weather is still high, this singular act differentiates Kombat from desperate politicians whose ambition knows no limits.

For the people of Gombe, they are Kombat on the dot. And for the APC, the path is clear: it embraces the inevitable or risk becoming a relic of past glory. The future is calling. The question is if the party will answer wisely or completely loses its moment.
