Judge Suleiman Belgore from the Federal Capital High Court (FCT) on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against the Director of Investigation and Prosecution in the administration of the Federal Capital Region (FCTA), Joseph Eriki, and 10 others.
The judge gave an order to force their appearance before the court for the indictment with the accusations filed by the federal government.
He issued a warrant after an application made by a legal counsel, David Kaswe.
Kaswe has told the court that all efforts to ensure the presence of suspects in court on their indictments in the marked accusation, FCT/HC/CR/87/2025, failed.
He said: “We have not been able to produce suspects in court. We call, tell their lawyers, and those who stand as collateral for them at the police station during the investigation.
“In this situation, in the spirit of the Administration of the Criminal Court Law (ACJA) which pondered a fast and daily trial, we submitted an application based on Section 124 ACJA, that the court issued a bench warrant against them as a final attempt to force their presence in court,” said the lawyer.

In his decision, the Belgore judge said: “After being given a guarantee by the police during the investigation of this case, a bench warrant hereby issued to all of them to force their performances in this court for the purpose of the indictment with accusations of six counts dated February 31 and submitted the same day in this court.”
He then postponed this case until June 4 for the indictment.
The federal government has submitted a demand for six criminal conspiracy counts, criminal violations, counterfeiting, using as original documents, criminal forces to prevent a civil servant from his task against Eriki and 10 others.
Others who were collected with the Director of FCTA were – Boniface Agwu, Ikechukwu Kanu, Donatec Electrical Company Limited, Super Structure Limited, Weatherfield Engineering, and Marine Service Limited.
The rest are Asher Information Services Limited, Isaac Omoluwa, Nwaimoneye Onyisi, Sarajo Aliyu, and Ogbole Michael.
They are suspected of having entered plot 461-470 and 486-496 illegally owned by Etha Ventures and put up a structure to deceive Etha Ventures.
