Edo: Ighodalo to challenge the election of Okpebholo in the Supreme Court

Candidates for the Governor of the Democratic Party (PDP) of the people in the state of Edo, Asue Ighodalo, and his party have decided to challenge the results of last year’s election in the state in the Supreme Court.

This followed the decision of the appeal court to uphold the victory of the Governor of Monday Okpebholo in a poll.

The panel of three members from the appeal court, in a unanimous decision, rejected Ighodalo’s appeal due to lack of achievements.

The PDP candidate has approached the court to override the decision of the State Governor’s Election Court, which also validated the Governor Election.

Judge Olabode-Abimbehingbe, who submitted the main decision, stated that the applicants failed to show that the Election Court was wrong in his decision and confirmed the court’s assessment submitted on April 2.

Judge Adegbehe also believes that the court is true to argue that the applicants do not prove their accusations of excessive non -compliance and voting.

The judge is the same as the opinion that the evidence of 19 witnesses, who was called by the Petitioners in the court, was not enough to prove the accusation.

He added that the Petitioners failed to call the relevant witnesses from the voting unit.

A PDP chief who was in court told reporters that the PDP legal team had been ordered to immediately appeal in the top court.
