The President of the Tinubu Soccer has expressed sadness over the death of several Kano State Contingent members for the National Sports Festival that had just been concluded in a car accident.
At least 20 athletes from Kano’s state died when the bus delivered them from Ogun State, where the competition, fell from the bridge in the state previously on Saturday.
Some other athletes were seriously injured in the accident.
In a statement by a special advisor about information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the death of athletes as a destroying blow to the nation.

Tinubu sympathized with the state government and the families of the victims for the incident.
He said: “This is a destroying blow to the nation. This shadow the national sports festival, the celebration of unity, talent, and excellence.
“This has long served as a platform to find and maintain athletes who bring pride to Nigeria at the national and international stages.
“The country’s biggest honor can give them to take concrete steps to prevent the tragedy in the future and improve safety standards throughout the state transportation system.”
