Tunde Bakare Visit Tinubu in Lagos on public criticism heels

Pastore Tunde Bakare

Supervisor of the Citadel Global Community Church, the shepherd Tunde Bakare, Wednesday 4 June 2025, visited President Bola Tinubu in his residence in the state of Lagos.

The presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga revealed the visit through a post on his account X Wednesday.

“The shepherd Tunde Bakare visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos Wednesday”, subtitled the photo of Onanuga with Bakare.

The visit barely comes a few weeks after Bakare said that Nigeria was turning into tyranny and suffering from a brazen abuse of power under Tinubu.

Speaking during his speech on the state of the nation that marks the Easter celebrations, the cleric condemned the collapse of the legislator, who defined a “bastion of democracy” which now fails under the guidance of the president.

Bakare, who contested the presidential ticket of All Progressivegs Congress (APC) against Tinubu in 2022, also leaned on to the state of emergency declared in the state of sparrows from Tinubu, saying that it was a clear example of what he described as a “theater of the absurd”.

He slammed both the actions of the President and the National Assembly, who accused of having approved the measure.

According to Bakare, the National Assembly had become the “more spin” in the history of Nigeria, allowing Tinubu actions to be controlled.

“Under your watch, Mr. President, the legislator has become a simple rubber stamp, supporting every action that undertakes without control,” said Bakare shepherd.
