Eminem sued Mark Zuckerberg for alleged unauthorized use

American rapper Eminem (Marshall Mathers) has sued Meta Platforms Inc. and Mark Zuckerberg, claiming that the music has been used without permission on the AI ​​platform and Metaverse Meta.

This technological giant is accused of stealing and distributing the content protected by Eminem copyright without permission or payment in the lawsuit, which was filed at the California Federal Court.

Eminem’s legal team accused the lawsuit filed in the Michigan Court that several songs, including famous songs such as “Lose Yourself” and “Without Me,” used in the virtual world and material produced by AI on all meta platforms, including horizon worlds and AI powerful music.

The lawsuit claims that the style of eight miles is the owner or controller of 243 tracks in the Meta music collection. Millions of videos with billions of display on the Meta platform are said to have displayed this track.

The lawsuit claims that, regardless of previously successful efforts to reach licensing agreements through the Audiam digital music rights organization, the music is illegally duplicated and synchronized into visual recordings.

“Although not licensed, the recording of the composition of eight miles has been reproduced and synchronized with visual content on the meta platform,” the complaint said. Furthermore, accusing that the executive of Meta “is actively encouraging rampant violations” to increase the involvement of user and advertising revenue – advertising reported is 97.8% of the total meta revenue in 2023.

Although told about the problem of license, Meta is still hosting karaoke, instrumental, and even some of the original versions of Eminem songs, according to the lawsuit.

“Meta violations that for years and ongoing from the composition of eight miles are other cases of dollar companies that exploit the creative efforts of music artists for the benefit of executives and their shareholders,” the law reads.
