The eldest son of the deceased veteran musician of Highlife, Emmanuel Ejeagha, revealed why the family buried ‘Gwo Gwo Ngwo’ Crooner Mike Ejeagha within 24 hours of his disappearance.

Ejeagha was placed at rest in his country house in Umagba, Imezi-Owa in the area of ​​the local government of Ezeagu of the state of Enugu on Saturday 7 June 2025.

Ejeagha died on Friday evening at the age of 95.

Speaking on Sunday, Emmanuel said the family buried the musician within 24 hours of his death to keep his desire.

He revealed that his father expressed a desire and warned them not to embalm him after his death, which they had realized.

He added that his father severely instructed him as the first child who when he passed, nobody should embalm him.

Emmanuel said: “I contacted the members of my family and I informed them that my father wanted the desire that he was resting 24 hours after his death.

“I also convened a meeting of my relative and we discussed widely. The governor of the state of Enugu Peter Mbah was informed about it and all agreed to the fact that whatever his desire was to be maintained.

“There are many consequential results if an elderly person has said something and otherwise it was done.”

Emmanuel also said that the funeral ceremony of the musician veteran would be announced soon.
