“Thunder” kills the student of Covenant University on Campus

An engineering student at Covenant University, Cu, Ota, Ogun State, Mori Nwense Daniel, died while playing football with some of his colleagues.

According to some witnesses, instead of bringing him straight for medical care, the University staff, whose attention was attracted to the accident, began to pray for him before taking him to the medical center, which was a little late.

A report by Saturday Vanguard mentioned a parent, who craved anonymity, for saying: “Imagine that the shepherds pray for an alleged student affected by the thunder instead of bringing him to the clinic or in the hospital when his companions asked for help. Commenting on the question, the National President of the National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria, Napan, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma, described the accident as unfortunate.

“We commission with the university authorities and the family of the deceased student. We cannot say that it was someone who knocked down the thunder. The thunder strike happens all over the world especially during the rainy season. We all played in the rain in those days, but we must tell our children the dangers in this.

“Whether it’s a primary or secondary school not to talk about a university, each school should have emergency room structures on the ground. When we were growing, if I am not mistaken, each class had a first aid box, even at the level of elementary school. This is necessary because medical emergencies can take place at any time. The administration of the first aid treatment can save souls. We must seriously take the well -being of our children,” he said.
