Iran has launched a burst of missiles addressed to Israel, intensifying a volatile conflict following Israeli strikes on nuclear plants and Iranian military leaders.
Associated Press reported that the sirens of the air raid crushed in Israel, with explosions that oscillate Jerusalem and smoke penaches that rose to Tel Aviv.
The Israeli army confirmed that dozens of missiles were launched, ordering residents nationally to look for refuge in bombs’ shelters. No immediate victims have been reported in Israel.
The Iranian assault, nicknamed “Severa punishment operation”, was a direct response to previous Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordo and Isfahan, who killed the best military commanders, including the head of the revolutionary guard Hossein Salami and nuclear scientists.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran condemned the actions of Israel as a “clear act of aggression” by the “Zionist regime”, accusing him of violating the sovereignty of Iran by targeting military and residential areas in Tehran and other cities.
The Ministry reported from victims, including “patriotic servants” and civilians, although the exact figures remain unconfirmed.
In a statement published on X, the Iranian Foreign Ministry invoked article 2, paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter, which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity of a state, labeling the strikes of Israel a violation of international law.
Citing Article 51, which affirms the right to self -defense, Iran has stated that its “legitimate and legal right” to take revenge. The Ministry swore that the armed forces of Iran would defend the sovereignty of the nation “with full force” and warned of “serious consequences” for Israel and its allies.
Iran urged the United Nations Security Council to act quickly against the “threat to international peace” of Israel and invited the United Nations Secretary General, Islamic nations and the not aligned movement to condemn the aggression.
The Ministry underlined the status of Iran as a founding member of the United Nations, asking for a collective action to counter “reckless adventurism” of Israel.
The Army of Israel, operating under “Operation Rising Lion”, described its previous strikes as a preventive effort to counter the nuclear ambitions of Iran, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who claimed the operation aimed at “restoring the Iranian threat”.
The Israeli defense forces reported that they had intercepted most of the Iranian missiles with the Iron Dome system, although some have caused damage to Tel Aviv.
The rapid escalation intensified the fears of a wider regional war. Global leaders, including the Ministry of EXTERNAL Affairs of India, expressed concern, soliciting moderation and diplomacy.
The United Nations Security Council convenient itself to face the crisis, while oil prices increased by 7.3% among the fears of interrupted supplies.
As the tensions run, both nations prepare for potential further blows, with the international community climbing to prevent a conflict on a large scale.
