CAC to review service fees starting August 1, giving reasons

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) will begin a comprehensive review of its service fees starting August 1.

In the notification issued on Tuesday, the Commission said the adjustment followed an in -depth review of the current economic reality, increasing operational costs, and extensive consultation with industrial stakeholders.

This development underlines the broader CAC goals to provide more efficient and technology -based services that are tailored to the developing needs of the Nigerian business environment.

The notification reads: “The commission wants to tell the general public, honorable customers, and all stakeholders who in our sustainable efforts to improve the quality and delivery of services, become necessary to review certain effective service fees on August 1, 2025.”

CAC emphasizes that changes are designed to be simple and competitive, while also supporting its encouragement for the company’s registry that is fully digital and centered on customers.

“This decision follows a careful consideration about the applicable economic reality, the increase in operational costs, and involvement with critical stakeholders,” he added.

“This review is in line with our commitment to increase service delivery and maintain the integrity of the Nigerian corporate registration.”

For many business owners, lawyers, and Nigerian compliance officers, this announcement indicates a shift in how regulatory services will be valued in the future, especially when submitting post-sacrificial, demand for compliance, and other documentation becomes more digital and demands higher infrastructure investment.

Key changes in the revised cost structure

Updated costs include various services in all companies, limited partnerships, business names, and guardians entered. Important revisions include:

Voluntary Solution: For small companies, the cost has increased from ₦ 25,000 to ₦ 50,000. Public companies will now pay ₦ 100,000.

Relisting Company: Now fees ₦ 50,000 for Ltd/GTE and ₦ 100,000 for public companies.

Search for complete test (supermarket): determined at a flat level ₦ 50,000 in all entities.

Extension of Annual General Meeting: Public companies will pay ₦ 100,000, while others are set ₦ 50,000.

History Search Report: Starting between ₦ 20,000 and ₦ 30,000, depending on the type of request.

Correct certified copy: Price ₦ 5,000 per document or extract.

Under limited partnerships, the commission includes the following changes:

Organizing voluntary and returning: ₦ 25,000 each

Letter of Good Stanting: ₦ 10,000

Certified true registration and copy: ₦ 30,000

Name Change: ₦ 10,000

For business names, updated costs include:

Voluntary Solution: ₦ 10,000

Relisting: ₦ 25,000

Application for Termination: ₦ 10,000

CTC Document or Extract: ₦ Each 5,000

Owner address restriction: ₦ 25,000

Meanwhile, the name of the name reservation remains unchanged in ₦ 1,000 for the standard name and ₦ 5,000 for limited words.
