The police command in Borno arrested 210 suspicions and recovered large quantities of drugs and hard weapons during the operations conducted from 11 to 18 June.
The police commissioner of Borno, Naziru Abdulmajid, revealed it on Friday while he was addressed to journalists at the headquarters of the command in Maiduguri.
He said that the operations involved incursions, surveillance, arrest and research actions and coordination of the cutting of the phone that are targeted, youth gangsterism, delinquency and abuse of drugs.
According to him, of the 210 suspicions arrested, 86 were sentenced, while 124 remain under investigation.
The recovered articles included 58 sachets of Tramadolo, 175 Exzol tablets, 130 D5 and 395 tablets plus 1 kg of dry leaves suspected of being Indian hemp.
Other seized objects were 28 Ermo tablets, 10 bottles of drug syrup, 19 shisha pots and tubes, nine knives and two custom antelopes horns.
Abdulmajid has credited the success to the unit of the social vices of the quick response team, a joint police force and other security agencies.
He praised the dedication and courage of the officers and thanked the Borno government for revitalizing and endowed with the RRS unit.
He also appreciated the lawyer of the State and the Commissioner for Justice, Hauwa Abubakar, for allowing a quick to pursue suspicions.
The CP urged residents to support safety agencies by reporting suspicious behavior and sharing a reliable intelligence to help investigations.
“Let me be clear, the police command in Borno under my watch will not tolerate criminal elements or their illegal activities,” he said.
He warned those who commit themselves to illegal acts to give up immediately or prepare to face the complete consequences of the law.
