Yelweta: chef beaten to amazement at the IDP field of Makurdi

According to reports, the criminals suspected of being faithful to the governor of the state of Benue have reached and beat Chef Victor to amazement at the international market of the internal displaced people of Yelweta.

A report by Benue Info-Pedia on Facebook on Saturday 21 June 2025 said that the IDPs of Yelweta massacre were camped at the Makurdi international market by the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (traffic).

According to the report, “while they take refuge, people of good will approach the field to do donations”.

The report cited chef Naira Victor said he had been brought closer by the Federal Legislator for the Federal Constitution of Makurdi/Guma to cook for the IDPs for a week he had started.

He said that while he was in the Saturday trial, he was harassed, beaten and asked to leave the field from the criminals.

The act was presumably conducted with the support of the humanitarian commissioner of the state of Benue.

He said they said that another chef had been contracted to cook for displaced people.

According to the report, “the chef, however, believes that this terrible act was performed because the sponsor of the activity was not in the good books of the governor of the state of Benue”.

It would have remembered that chef Victor had attempted Guinness World Record for the longest time spent cooking, an adventure that tagged “Cook-a-Thon”.
