At least 12 people were killed and 18 others suffered injuries on Friday when a female suicide bomber detonated an improvisation explosives (IED) in the fish market in the regional government in the state of the state of Borno.
Spokesman for the State Police Command, Nahum Daso, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday at Maiduguri.
The statement reads: “Suicide bombings occurred on Friday, June 20, 2025, around 2130 hours, in the fish market in the city of Konduga, the state of Borno where a female suicide bomber, who has an explosive explosive device (IED) that binds his body, makes a crowd of people who are not suspicious and establishing chaos that is not suspicious and describes an unpurious civilian device, and the consequences.
“On 1300 hours June 21, 2025: 12 killed, 18 were seriously injured.

‘”The joint response team consisting of Nigerian police personnel, military, EOD-CBRN units, and other security institutions was quickly mobilized to the scene to prevent further attacks and manage emergencies.
“Police Commissioner, Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, gave a sincere condolence to the family of the deceased and all that was affected by this heinous acts.
“He also convinced the public about the unrelenting command of command to ensure that the normal state was fully restored in the area.
“CP urges community members to remain calm, alert, and be aware of security, and immediately report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest security agent.”
