10 suffered a gunshot wound in the Kenya demonstration

At least 10 people were treated in hospitals with shot injuries during demonstrations in Kenya on Wednesday.

General meetings will mark the first warning of protest against tax bills that changed to deadly in East Africa. It is not clear who shot them.

Thousands of Kenya residents took to the previous streets on that day to commemorate the demonstration in 2024 which killed at least 60 people and peaked in the invasion of the National Parliament.

Local TV Station said the police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters in the capital, Nairobi and blocked traffic that entered the central business district, the protest center.

However, Kenya Police Spokesman, Muciri Nikaga, did not respond to requests for comments about shot injuries.

Although in 2024, protests faded after President William Ruto withdrew the proposed tax increase, public anger over the use of excessive power by security institutions had not subsided, with a new demonstration opening a new tab this month for the death of a blogger in police custody.

Six people, including three police officers, were charged with murder on Tuesday for the murder of bloggers and 31 -year -old teacher, Albert Ojwang. All claimed to be innocent.

On Wednesday, a source at Kenyatta Nairobi’s National Hospital told reporters that the facility had received 11 patients with shot injuries.
