MTN commits N3bn to the 3MTT initiative in Nigeria

The thrust of the federal government to position Nigeria as a global Hub for technical talents has received a significant thrust, since Mtn Nigeria promised a cumulative billion in N3 in support of 3 million technical talents (3mtt).

By announcing the development, the Minister of Communications, innovation and digital economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, highlighted the importance of strategic-private collaborations in the acceleration of the country’s digital transformation agenda.

“I recognize the long -term support of Mtn Nigeria for the 3mtt Nigeria program, with a cumulative investment of N3 billion from the beginning,” said dr. Tijani, underlining that the telecommunications giant actively supported the initiative even before its recent public launch.

The 3mtt initiative, a key component of the renewed agenda of the hope of the Federal Government, aims to form three million Nigerians in various digital and technical skills by 2027. It is expected that it will create a solid digital workforce capable of satisfying both national and global demand for technological talent.

MTN support follows similar contributions from other actors in the sector. In March, Airtel Africa Foundation announced a grant of N1 billion to help the program.

Previously, the Ministry has signed a 1 billion agreement n.

The IHS partnership also includes the financing of salaries for the managers of the community dedicated in each location for a period of three years, further improving the sustainability and the scope of the initiative.

“Mtn, as one of our first supporters, has contributed to guiding inclusive access to digital skills throughout Nigeria. This type of collaboration supported is what feeds our vision of a workforce ready for the future and a Nigeria that exports technical talent to a global level”, observed Tijani.
