Rivers Angels Edge Nasarawa Amazons in penalty shotout to retain the president’s Federation Cup

Rivers Angels FC was victorious in a burning and dramatic ending to the Cup of the Women’s President of 2025, defeating the Amazonas Nasarawa 5-3 for sanctions after an exciting 2-2 draw in the regulation time.

The exciting encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos was a showcase of first -level Nigerian women’s football, since both parties exchanged impulse and goals in a match that had everything: intensity, skill and willpower.

The Nasarawa Amazon took a dominant advantage in the first half, with Olushola Shobowale writing twice in rapid succession to silence the supporters of Los Angeles de los Ríos. But the champions showed their temper, riding an impressive return in the second half. Taiwo Ajibade withdrew one, before Taiwo Afolabi level the tie, sending the multitude to the ecstasy and the party to a tense dead point.

Without progress after 90 minutes, the game continued directly to penalties.

The angels of the rivers were perfect from the point, turning the five kicks. The Nasarawa Amazon, however, stumbled once, allowing Angels to seal a memorable 5-3 victory 5-3.
