The former candidate for the presidency Peter Obi has officially downloaded the Labor Party (LP) and joined the forces with a large political coalition under the platform of the African democratic congress (ADC), preparing the foundations for a great realignment in view of the general elections of 2027.
The coalition, he presented on Wednesday, appointed Senator David Mark as the new national president of the ADC and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as national secretary, reporting a courageous attempt to consolidate the opposition forces against the dominant plant.
In a declaration issued by OBI, he explained that the move was guided by the “profound reflection” and by a shared vision for national transformation.
“This decision has not been taken lightly. It comes from a profound reflection on where we are as a country and what it must be done to go on,” said Obi.
“No group can change Nigeria alone. To dismantle the structures that keep our people in poverty and insecurity, we must build non -wall bridges even when those bridges are uncomfortable.”
Obi reiterated the shared commitment of the coalition for the sacrifice, unity and construction of the nation, underlining that the goal is to guarantee competent, capable and compassionate leadership that gives priority to the well -being of the Nigerians.
“A new Nigeria is possible,” he concluded, echoing his longtime mantra.
