The CAF appointed Pinnick as a special advisor to the President of Motsepe

Amaju Pinnick, former President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has been appointed as a special advisor for the Confederation of the African Football President (CAF) Patrice Motsepe.

The appointment was ratified by the CAF Executive Committee on Saturday, with Motsepe confirmed that Pinnick will now attend an executive meeting in his new advisor.

Although Pinnick has only lost its position on the FIFA council, its influence in African football remains significant.

He played a role in Motsepe’s successful efforts to become president of CAF in March 2021.

Pinnick, 54, served two term as President of NFF after being elected on September 30, 2014, and was re -elected on September 20, 2018.

He is also the third Nigerian who became a member of the FIFA council, following Oyo Oro and Amos Adamu.

His latest appointment was seen as a recognition of his long -lasting contribution to the growth and progress of football throughout the African continent.
