EFCC demands two men for alleged CBEX fraud

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Monday charged two people, Agentuo Autorudo and Chukwuebuka Ehirim, for. Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) fraud at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

This duo was charged with accusations of three counts to get with false reasons, persuasion and public invitation into fraud investment.

They accused that the defendants of operating a fake investment scheme through CBEX, which promised investors up to 88% of returns without the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

However, the defendants claimed to be innocent for the accusation.

Following their request, EFCC’s adviser, Fadila Yusuf, urged the court to return them to the correctional facilities and request a delay for a guarantee application session.

He said: “The educated advisor is very complicated before this honorable court. He has complained of EFCC who arrested them in our facilities and we said if they were uncomfortable with us, they were before the court now, my master could move them to more comfortable accommodation.”

Legal advisor, JA Autorudo, told the court that the guarantee application had been submitted to the defendants, but EFCC opposed it.

After listening to both parties, Supreme Court Justice Muhammmed postponed this case until July 18 to decide the guarantee application.

He also ordered that the defendants be returned at the Kuje Correctional Center.
