The university student dies while playing football on the campus

A 300 level microbiology student at the University of Nnamdi Azikiwe, Awka in the state of Anambra, Tonchi Atth, collapsed and died while playing football on the campus.

The reports reported that the student died while playing football near the premises of the Elmada hostel on Monday 7 July 2025.

Towers, popularly known as “T-Funds”, is a younger brother of the President of the Congress All Progressives (APC) in LGA IGBO-ETITI of the State of Enugu, dr. Simon Atth.

The president of Useh Youths, Sabastine Aku, in a statement issued on behalf of the Atth family and the Useh community, confirmed the accident.

Aku said: “With the heavy heart but the total submission to the will of God, to the Atth family and the entire village of Useh sadly announce the disappearance of our son, brother and friend, late Toci Martins (Aka” T-Funds Exchange “), younger brother of Dr. Simone Atth, the current president of the party all progressive Congress, Igbo-Etiti of Enugu State.

“He started suddenly as he played football. He may accept his soul and grant the family comfort in this difficult moment.”

Unizik’s Chief Safety Officer, Ken Chukth, also confirmed the accident.

Chukth said: “The accident occurred on Monday; the school is aware of it.

“We are still studying to be sure of what happened and how it happened.”
