Noa, EFCC partner to face the computer crime

In a concerted effort to curb the growing cases of fraud of activities and virtual investments, the National Orientation Agency (Noa) and the Commission for Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC) launch a national awareness campaign aimed at educating the Nigerians on the dangers of IT crime and promoting a culture of financial integrity.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the deputy director, communications and media Paul Odenyi

Speaking at a public conference organized by the EFCC to commemorate the anti-corruption day of the African Union, the general manager of Noa, Mallam Lanre Issa-Syilu, announced the Agency plan to implement a complete digital awareness campaign through strategically selected states.

He explained that the states would be chosen on the basis of key indicators of vulnerability such as the prevalence of investment fraud, the density of the youth population and exposure to digital risk.

Mallam Issa-Honilu also revealed plans for an initiative focused on young people in the field of campaign. The program is designed to instill ethical entrepreneurship, promote financial responsibility and allow Nigerian young people to make informed decisions, in particular those susceptible to online scams and rack -rich patterns.

Highlighting the wider commitment of the agency in the fight against social crimes, the general manager of Noa observed that the Agency’s innovative platform, Clheean, was decisive to allow citizens to report the information relating to crime anonymously. Reports sent through the platform are addressed to appropriate security agencies for ready action.

In his observations, the president of the FCC, Ola Olukoyede, reiterated the long -standing collaboration of the Commission with Noa, in particular in public lighting on government initiatives and anti -corruption efforts. He also urged the Nigerians to support and collaborate with the police in the current fight against financial crimes.

The event also characterized the participation of the main parties concerned, including the general manager of the Securities and Exchange Commission, dr. EMOMOTIMI AGAMA; the general chancellor of the body business commission, Hussini Ishaq Magaji; and representatives of the Women Society of Nigeria and various civil society organizations (CSO).
