Supreme Court: Exultive supporters closed by the Edo government house

The Giubilanti supporters of the governor on Monday Okpebholo, were amazed on Friday following an order reported to prevent them from developing the house of the government of the Edo State with the governor.

The supporters who included market women and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had gathered at the Benin airport around 7 in the morning, to give the governor an exciting welcome.

The rally followed the triumph of Okpebholo in the legal dispute of the elections of the Governorate of 2024 at the Supreme Court in the capital of the nation, Abuja.

Okpebholo whose plane touched Benin airport at about 12.40s was welcome from supporters in the middle of jubilation.

The supporters, many of whom were not mobile, proceeded on foot in a road procession with the motorcycle authors of the governor Okpebhale who sing solidarity songs.

The procession, which lasted for about an hour, resolved the Edo State Government Chamber were the supporters who had been informed by the security agents that only a very important personality (VIP) would have been allowed in the government’s house for refreshments.

The disrespectful supporters alternated to complain about development, with many rainy insults on the authors.

“One of the supporters who identified themselves as Mrs. Ebosele homogias said:“ In the worst moments of the former governor Godwin Obaseki, supporters and members have not been treated in a rake in this way.

“They won now and decided to build a wall around themselves,” he added.

“I left my house before 7 in the morning for the airport and stopped in the sun for hours before the governor’s arrival.

“We engaged in a road show with him at the government’s house, just for us to be closed. This treatment has melted on us is unfair,” added another supporter.

In the meantime, the Okpebholo governor has said that his administration will establish a commission of inquiry to examine the registers of the former governor Godwin Obaseki.

Okpebholo who spoke to the Benin City government house, observed that the administration led by Obasek used consultants to manage the affairs of the state during which he looted the treasure.

He said that Obaseki hired and paid a consultant in the Edo (Edogis) geographical information service of N6 billion as well as another billion N2 for the software.

The governor observed that his administration developed his software and sent the packaging of said consultant.

He added: “I will open the books to control financial relationships and how Obaseki has ruled the Edo state over the past eight years.

“A university in this state received N47 million under the administration of Obaseki, while paid the N51 million consultant.

“This was not good enough. They wanted to continue with this act, but God helped us to push them out.”

“Edo was tired of transactional people and thieves, but now we will examine their records.

“I will take two years on eight years and Edo People will see the difference. We will have an investigation commission to examine the books and relationships of the previous administration.”
