Adopting the Wike playbook, Lamido Backs Adc Coalition, …- Theconclaveng

Sule Lamido

The former governor of the state of Jigawa and founding member of the Democratic Party of people (PDP), Alhaji Sule Lamido, declared his support for the opposition coalition pursuant to the African democratic congress (ADC), firmly maintaining his loyalty to the PDP.

Lamido would seem to have learned from the Plaokook of the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, who is a “busy” of the PDP but he wines and digs with the APC who rewarded the confraternity with a juicy ministerial wallet.

Speaking to an Empowerment program organized by Senator Mustapha Khabeeb (PDP, Jigawa South West) in Dutse during the weekend, Lamido clarified his position, observing that although supporting the unification of opposition parties under the leadership of the ADC, he does not intend to leave the PDP.

“Yes, I support the opposition meeting under the ADC, but I am known that I will never leave the PDP.

“I built this house with my sweat and my soul. My role is now to offer a guide and ensure that Nigeria goes back,” he told a crowd of supporters.

Lamido criticized the governments of All Progressives Congress (APC) at state and federal level, accusing them of having betrayed the trust of the people and of having failed in the government.

He praised the federal legislators of the PDP from the state of Jigawa, stating that they were working for the people, unlike their APC counterparts that he accused of selfishness.

“The three federal legislators of the Jigawa PDP are serving the people.

“The legislators of the APC? They only serve themselves. Let the people judge,” he said.

As a symbolic show of units among the opposition forces, Lamido introduced the president of the ADC in the state of Jigawa, Kabiru Hussini, to the public of the PDP, indicating his support for the collaboration aimed at reconstructing the country.

Senator Mustapha Khabeeb echoed to the opinions of Lamido, reflecting on the development record of the PDP under the guidance of Lamido.

“From 1999 to 2015, and in particular under the Lamido, Jigawa knew what I appeared: roads, schools, hospitals, real change. What do we now have? APC has brought nothing but hunger and despair,” he said.

Khabeeb also showed his commitment to the legacy of the PDP through various strengthening programs aimed at improving the life of the components.

In the meantime, the ADC has made the APC and the federal government flow over what he called “hypocrisy” following their public mourning of the former president Muhammadu Buhari.

The ADC accused the party in power of trying to rewrite the narrative, noting that the APC had repeatedly raised Buhari for the country’s troubles in recent years.

In a declaration signed by its secretary of the provisional national advertising, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC announced a period of mourning of three days in honor of the deceased former president.

“During this period, the ADC will suspend all political activities and public declarations in honor of Buhari’s contributions to the country”, reads the declaration.

“Regardless of political affiliations, what cannot be denying is that President Buhari served this country with a strong sense of duty, personal discipline and conviction,” he added. [With report from The Star]
