Minister Matawalle reveals Cramored Personnel Carrier

The Minister of State for Defense, dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, he revealed the conveyor of Conson-Vanquish armored staff (APC) in Abuja.

Speaking to the event held at the House of Navi of the Ministry of Defense, dr. Matawalle described the APC as a significant thrust of Nigeria’s military skills in facing terrorism, bandits and other security challenges.

In a declaration issued by his media helper, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, the minister said that the vehicle was developed jointly by the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria (Dicon) and Vanquish Industries Ltd (VIL).

Light and mobile, the APC dicon-blancquish is designed to protect troops on the modern battlefield, offering resistance to the mine and advanced ballistic protection against the fire of light weapons, the splinters and improvised explosive devices.

Equipped with a low fuel consumption engine, the APC can cover long distances without refueling, improving operational flexibility. Officials say that the vehicle is adaptable to different terrain and combat conditions.

The minister praised Major General Bi Alaya and the engineer Zachariah Duwa Ndiriza of the Vanquish industries for their collaborative effort in producing APC at the local level.

Highlighting its strategic importance, dr. Matawalle said that the defense equipment made locally are fundamental for the self -sufficiency of Nigeria safety.

The head of the defense staff, General Christopher G. Musa, has already placed orders for the APC, with more purchases that should strengthen the military’s operational promptness.

The general manager of Dicon, the major general Alaya, observed that the partnership reflects a wider commitment for technology transfer and local production, reducing dependence on Nigeria on foreign weapons suppliers.

He added that Dicon now produces not only armored vehicles but also light weapons, ammunition and artillery systems, marking a passage towards industrial self -sufficiency of defense.
